When fitting a flange towbar (including detachable flange towbars, but not swannneck towbars) a towball is required. There a number of different variants of towball/coupling available but for most people all that is required is the standard 50mm towball. Please note that a EC Approved towball is needed for cars registered from 'S' registration vehicles on (see Type Approval). |

AL-KO

are ebay shop for full details and to purchase EC type approved. Many new caravans are fitted with an stablisher system built into the carvans hitch. The most popular of these is the AL-KO system. As the hitch is slightly larger than usual more distance is required between the vehicle and the towball, this requires a slightly different ball. A special ball cover is normally required. |

Pin, Ball & Jaw - £27.50 EC type approved with a capacity of at least 3,500kg (3.5 tonne). This pin, ball and jaw allows the towing of commerical items such as generators which usually require a pin to tow them. (exact style/colour may differ from picture) |
