When fitting a flange towbar
(including detachable flange towbars, but not swannneck towbars)
a towball of sometype is required.
There a number of different
variants of towball/coupling available but for most people all
that is required is the standard 50mm Towball. Please note that
a EC Approved towball is needed for cars registered from 'S'
registration vehicles on (see Type
Approval). Towbars that require a EC Approved towball are
highlighted in blue on our main
price list.
AL-KO Type Towball
Many new caravans are fitted
with an stablisher system built into the carvans hitch. The most
popular of these is the AL-KO system. As the hitch is slightly
larger than usual more distance is required between the vehicle
and the towball, this requires a slightly different ball.
Pin, Ball & Jaw
We can also supply a 3,500kg
(3.5 tonne) pin, ball and jaw to allow the towing of commerical
items such as generators which usually require a pin to tow them. |
